Staff at the Center for Economic and Policy Research Ratify New Collective Bargaining Agreement
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
The Center for Economic and Policy Research (CEPR) and the Nonprofit Professional Employees Union, IFPTE Local 70 (NPEU), are pleased to announce the ratification of a new successor contract that reflects our shared commitment to the well-being of CEPR's dedicated staff and the organization's ongoing success.
Sarah Rawlins, a member of the NPEU bargaining committee, added, “This is CEPR's 11th union contract and I am always impressed by how we build on previous contracts with each iteration. Our Bargaining Committee put a lot of thought and creativity into the additions and it was a real work of solidarity. We are excited about the improvements in compensation and benefits, which directly support the needs of our members, particularly those balancing work and family life.”
Both CEPR and NPEU look forward to continuing our successful collaboration under this new agreement.
Highlights of the new agreement include:
Raises for all bargaining unit members retroactive to January 2024, which will be reflected in the March paycheck.
Increased pay floor to $65,000.
Expanded leave benefits, including additional bereavement and family leave.
Enhanced caregiver support, with 75% insurance premium coverage and reimbursement for some childcare costs.
Summer Fridays: Half-day Fridays from June to August to encourage a healthy work-life balance.
