Last month, Nonprofit Professional Employees Union (NPEU) members at J Street ratified a collective bargaining agreement with J Street management. This agreement is the first union contract for the J Street Workers Union who formed their union with NPEU in spring of 2020.
The following are highlights from the J Street Workers Union’s first contract:
A salary minimum of $45,500
Annual pay increases of up to 12.5% over the 3-year lifetime of the contract
12 weeks paid family leave
Unlimited paid time off, with a minimum PTO usage amount of (19) days, and increased available sick leave
A commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion that includes regular trainings
Annual pay equity reviews
A new procedure for dealing with financial hardship that prioritizes finding alternatives to layoffs
The creation of a Labor Management Committee that will meet quarterly to address issues of mutual concern
“We are grateful for everyone in the bargaining unit and bargaining committee, both past and present, for fighting for a contract that makes J Street a better and more equitable place to work,” said the J Street Workers Union bargaining committee.
