WASHINGTON, August 3, 2020 - The Nonprofit Professional Employees Union (NPEU) is thrilled to welcome the staff at the Congressional Progressive Caucus Center (CPC Center) to our growing family of nonprofit workers. The Congressional Progressive Caucus Center Union (CPC Center Union) requested voluntary recognition from management, and they have indicated they will be moving forward with the voluntary recognition process.
The CPC Center works to identify and develop solutions to build a more just, equitable, and resilient nation. The CPC Center is made up of a diverse group of progressives that are dedicated to bringing together community leaders, organizers, advocates, unions, and policy experts to build people-led policy.
“We believe in unity and equity and have dedicated our careers to serving and fighting for justice. We believe that unionizing will help uphold the CPC Center’s values and commitment to empowering and strengthening communities of all backgrounds across the nation,” said the representatives of the CPC Center Union. “We are excited to join NPEU in solidifying our commitment to equity and justice in the workplace and beyond. We are thrilled management has signaled they will voluntarily recognize our union and we look forward to reaching a formal agreement soon.”
“We are excited to welcome the CPC Center staff to NPEU!” said NPEU President Kayla Blado. “As leaders in the progressive policy world, CPC Center staff work every day to advance racial, economic, and gender justice. By forming a union, they will be able to more strongly advocate for these principles at their own workplace. We’re looking forward to CPC Center management recognizing the CPC Center Union.”
