CEPR Staff Ratify New Contract with Anti-Harassment Language, Unlimited Sick Leave
Earlier this week, the Nonprofit Professional Employees Union (NPEU) members at the Center for Economic and Policy Research (CEPR) ratified a new two year contract. Highlights of the new contract include:
Anti-harassment language, including anti-bullying language
Unlimited sick time
Officially raising minimum salaries to $47,746 in the spirit of the Obama-era overtime rule
Strengthened childcare accommodations and paid leave allowances
Recognizing May Day as a paid holiday
Incorporated gender-neutral language
"We're proud to have secured a contract with significant economic and non-economic gains that reflect the values of our workplace," said Hayley Brown, CEPR's unit representative. "Our forward-thinking new sick days policy and strong language against sexual harassment will benefit our members and our organization overall. We hope policies like these can serve as examples for other nonprofits."
