SumOfUs Staff Union Ratifies New Contract
The Nonprofit Professional Employees Union (NPEU) members at SumOfUs approved a new union contract. Highlights of the new contract include:
A robust job security clause that provides the union with a substantial role in financial decisions when hardships occur.
More paid time off for parents, including more sick days for caretaking for families and more flexible leave for new parents.
An improved sick leave policy with more sick days to address mental and chronic illness, and more flexibility in accessing additional sick days.
“We are really proud of the workplace improvements we’ve gained with this contract. Additional paid leave for caretaking and illness was a priority for our membership, and with our collective voice we were able to make it a reality at our organization,” said the SumOfUs union's bargaining team.
