For nearly 115 years, the Carnegie Endowment for International Peace has promoted international cooperation by advancing knowledge, building global relationships, and empowering the next generation of policy experts to tackle the world’s toughest challenges. To help ensure the institution’s continued strength and resilience, staff have formed the Carnegie Endowment Workers Alliance (CEWA) in partnership with the Nonprofit Professional Employees Union (NPEU).

If you're a Carnegie Endowment worker and want to sign an authorization card indicating your support for our union, email us here and a member of the Carnegie Endowment Workers Alliance organizing committee will send you a card to sign. About the Nonprofit Professional Employees Union

The Nonprofit Professional Employees Union (NPEU), a local of the International Federation of Professional and Technical Engineers, AFL-CIO represents professionals employed at more than 50 nonprofit organizations in DC and across the United States. With thousands of members, NPEU gives nonprofit workers a voice to strengthen their workplaces and continue to do work that makes a difference in people’s lives.

NPEU members’ contracts are tailored to the unique needs of their nonprofit organizations. With a say in their workplaces, NPEU members have negotiated for policies that strengthen their organizations and for compensation that allows for long-term sustainable careers. NPEU members are raising standards for the whole nonprofit industry.

The International Federation of Professional and Technical Engineers

NPEU is a local union of the International Federation of Professional and Technical Engineers (IFPTE). The 80,000 members of IFPTE include aerospace engineers at Boeing, scientists at NASA, lawyers at Legal Aid at Work, and many other professionals from across all sectors and industries. IFPTE is a bottom-up, employee-based organization that gives professional and technical employees the collective power to raise wages, benefits, and working conditions. As NPEU’s international union, IFPTE provides legal, organizing, and collective bargaining support, as well as guidance on a variety of other issues.
